Using specialised equipment such as a video spectral comparator (VSC) it is sometimes possible to restore erased and obliterated entries or hidden or invisible writing to reveal what was originally written. The two examples illustrate the restoration of obliterated entries by infrared luminescence (IRL) using the VSC.
