Chris Anderson is an experienced and recognised forensic document examiner. He acquired his experience and expertise initially from the Australian Federal Police, then with the Department of Immigration, Local Government & Ethnic Affairs. Chris has presented evidence in court as an expert witness on countless occasions. By applying a methodical and scientific approach, together with his years of experience, he has provided clients with practical answers to difficult questions on disputes arising from suspect or questioned documents.
During his time with the Australian Federal Police, Chris worked closely with the investigators to provide valuable assistance on the forensic document aspects of the investigation which in many instances led to a felon being bought to justice or pointing the investigators to other avenues of enquiry. He has also provided evidence to a Royal Commission against a well known drug trafficker, through the identification of his handwriting, which provided a valuable link as to the manner in which he was laundering ill-gotten gains. In another high profile investigation Chris provided evidence to a Commission of Inquiry on what proved to be a falsified signature on a purported confessional Police Statement being held in the custody of a very senior police officer.
In 1984 Chris commenced a private consultancy on forensic document examination. He focused on providing a service to the legal profession, other professional bodies, banks and business organisations in Australia and New Zealand covering all aspects of document examination.
Chris is currently enrolled at Macquarie University undertaking a Master of Science degree by research in statistics.
