Currently, I am a consultant forensic document examiner to Chris Anderson & Co Pty Ltd, Forensic Document Examiners working from the 2nd floor, 835 Pennant Hills Road, Carlingford NSW. Previously, I was a member of the Victoria Police for 28 years, gaining the rank of Inspector before resigning in November of 1993 to commence a private forensic document examination practice establishing Forensic Document Examination (Australia).
During the period from May 1978 to October 1987 inclusive, under the direction of the late Chief Inspector Len TimewelI in conjunction with Mr. Neil Holland I studied and gained experience in all phases of forensic document examination, including:
As a forensic document examiner, I have given evidence in all jurisdictions within the State of Victoria and in the Supreme Court and Local Magistrates Court in the State of New South Wales and the Supreme Court of South Australia. I have also given evidence in the Federal Court.
Further, my reports’ have been received, in the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory and the High Court of Singapore.
I was the first forensic document examiner in Australia to present evidence in court using a Video camera connected to a microscope to record the examination undertaken of fraudulent cheques (R v Scott Melbourne County Court 16/10/87)
At the laboratory, I supplied detectives, general duties police, Judges, Boards of Inquiry, Universities, and others with the results of my scientific examination of questioned documents
I have been extensively cross examined in a large number of cases both criminal and civil.
Since resigning my Commission as an Inspector of Police I have been conducting a Forensic Document Examination Consultancy in Victoria.
I am President of the Australasian Society of Forensic Document Examiners Incorporated (ASFDE Inc).
